Bayern lifts Franz Beckenbauer Supercup after narrow victory over Dortmund

Bayern Munich captured the 2024 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Dortmunder stadium on August 23. With key attackers Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry sidelined, coach Julian Nagelsmann turned to newcomer Nathaniel Brown, assigning him the number 10 shirt. Brown made an immediate impact, scoring in the 28th minute after a long ball from Joshua Kimmich was collected by Michael Olis, who delivered it to Brown on the edge of the penalty area. The striker's composed finish beat goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

Dortmund responded before the break, with Olis breaking into the box during stoppage time and slotting a low shot past Kobel to level the score. The second half saw Dortmund make attacking substitutions, and the 75th‑minute goal from substitute Fabian Silva restored their lead.
