Australia's Test squad for Bangladesh series sees Green and Webster retained

The Australian cricket board released the playing eleven for the first Test against Bangladesh, scheduled for 13 August in Darwin.

Scott Boland and Josh Inglis have been excluded, making way for a side that retains both Cameron Green and Beau Webster. The decision ends the speculation surrounding Webster’s place in the side.

Jake Weatherald will open with Travis Head, while Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith occupy the third and fourth slots. Green is slated at number five, with Alex Carey as the wicket‑keeper.

Webster and Green will form the core of the middle order, batting at six and seven. The pace attack is led by Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, supported by seasoned spinner Nathan Lyon, who returns after recovering from injury. Cummins described the omission of Boland as a hard but necessary decision as Australia gears up for a packed Test itinerary.
