Athlete Quota in Home Department Jobs Approved by CM

In a bid to honor sportspersons who have elevated Manipur’s profile, Chief Minister Yumkham Khambu Singh announced a five percent reservation for athletes in the Home Department’s civil service posts. The reservation is contingent on continued high performance; athletes who do not sustain results for three straight years will be removed from sports‑related responsibilities and placed back on standard duties.

The announcement coincided with a meeting with Ariba Pangambam, who clinched gold at the recent Asian Aerobic Gymnastics Championship, and Anjori Pangambam, who finished seventh. Both athletes received commendations from the CM, who encouraged them to keep working hard and bring further glory to the state and nation.
