Asian Para Games: CM Vijay Applauds Tamil Nadu's 15 Medal Winners

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has applauded the state's para athletes after they won 15 medals at the 5th Asian Para Games in Japan. The Chief Minister lauded their determination and pledged the government's steady support for further success on the global stage.

In a post on the social media platform X, Vijay sent warm wishes to the athletes from Tamil Nadu who represented India. The athletes returned with 3 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals, a total of 15, which he called a proud moment for both the state and the country.

He wrote that he extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to the para athletes of Tamil Nadu who represented India at the 5th Asian Para Games in Japan. He said they had achieved this outstanding result by winning 15 medals in all, including 3 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze.

The Chief Minister said the medallists had surmounted many challenges through regular training, steadfast resolve and devotion to their sporting goals. He observed that their accomplishments reflect the hard work behind every strong performance and that they are worthy of respect and admiration.

He went on to say that the athletes had overcome several challenges by maintaining consistent training and mental strength, and had created history by winning medals. Vijay said the effort and success of every athlete, men and women alike, deserved genuine praise, and he wished them well for the rest of their journey.

Vijay specifically commended each athlete for showing the discipline required to compete and succeed internationally. He extended best wishes for their ongoing progress and expressed confidence that more accomplishments would be added to their sporting careers in the years ahead.

He noted that these sporting heroes had presented Tamil Nadu's sporting strength and the capabilities of its youth to the world. Their medals, he said, had also strengthened India's position and raised the nation's prestige.

Beyond the medals themselves, the Chief Minister's message highlighted the hard work that went into achieving these results. He said the athletes had transformed personal commitment into achievements now being celebrated across the state, by keeping focused on training and clear goals.

Vijay reiterated his government's commitment to sports and said Tamil Nadu would always support accomplished athletes as well as youngsters struggling to establish themselves. The state, he said, would stand with them so they could refine their abilities and continue winning.

The assurance, he added, is meant not only for recent medal winners but also for the young generation that aspires to success in sports. The state will remain committed to strengthening athletic talent and supporting efforts toward excellence.

"The Tamil Nadu government will stand firmly with these successful athletes and the young generation striving for excellence at every level, so that their talent can be further refined and they can be helped to achieve many more victories in the future," Chief Minister Vijay said.
