Asian Games Archery: Indian Teams Secure Spot in Medal Round
India’s compound archery contingents have locked in slots for the medal round of the Asian Games after impressive quarter‑final performances on Sunday. In the women’s match, Vennam, Taniparthi and Pradeep edged a tight 233‑230 win over Kazakhstan’s representatives. The men’s team, featuring Dalal, Jadhav and Manirathnam, posted a 235‑232 score against Bhutan.
Both sides entered the semifinals after clear victories in the round of 16 – India’s women beat Mongolia 238‑223, while the men defeated the UAE 235‑215. The upcoming semifinals against South Korea will determine which nation contests the bronze and gold medal matches slated for the end of the month.
The success adds to India’s overall archery haul at the Asian Games, where the country collected nine medals – five gold, two silver and two bronze – in Hangzhou 2023.
