Neeraj Chopra’s unexpected exit from the 2026 Asian Games has opened a spot for another Indian javelin thrower. The 30‑year‑old Chopra, a two‑time Olympic medalist, was forced out after his ankle injury lingered into the competition season, preventing his participation in the Brussels Diamond League final and the World Athletics Ultimate Championship.
