The upcoming India versus Pakistan clash in the 2025 Asia Cup, set to take place at the Dubai International Stadium on September 14, has seen an unusual development: tickets remain unsold. This is a stark contrast to the usual frenzy surrounding this high-profile cricket rivalry. Despite the anticipation, particularly for premium seating, tickets are still available. An official from Emirates Cricket suggested that the absence of Indian cricket legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who retired from T20Is last year, might have affected ticket sales. The tournament’s formal start was marked by a press conference where organizers intentionally seated Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan between India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha to maintain diplomatic decorum. An Emirates Cricket official noted that ticket sales have been surprisingly low, with upper-tier stands still available, unlike previous matches where tickets sold out rapidly. High prices and bundled ticket packages are believed to have dampened demand. Premium seats, such as the VIP Suites East, are priced at INR 2,57,815 for two tickets, offering various amenities. Other high-end options include the Royal Box (INR 2,30,700) and Sky Box East (INR 1,67,851). Even mid-tier tickets are expensive. The availability of tickets for this highly anticipated match is an unusual situation, raising questions about whether the pricing strategy has impacted fan enthusiasm.
