Ashram claims Virat Kohli paid for multiple visits, denies allegations

MATHURA, Oct 7 (IAN) – Premanand Maharaj's ashram, led by the figure known as Dinesh Sharma, has reiterated its stance that Virat Kohli made sizable payments to facilitate his first and subsequent visits.

According to Sharma, an initial amount of two crore was handed over to increase the Maharaj's public profile, followed by an additional three crore for later trips. He further asserted that Kohli's company accounts and the PR firm's ledgers should be examined to reveal the truth.

In response, Kohli's spokesperson dismissed the narrative as "utterly false" and demanded proof, stating that all financial records would be opened to independent auditors if required. The spokesperson also highlighted Kohli's history of supporting charitable projects at various ashrams, describing his contributions as altruistic, not transactional.

No concrete evidence has surfaced to substantiate Sharma's claims, and the matter remains a contested point between the two parties.
