From domestic grind to international stage: Ashok Sharma’s aspirations

Sharma’s journey from playing in the Indian domestic leagues to being part of the senior national team has been marked by perseverance. Earlier this year he was part of the India A squad that toured Sri Lanka, where an injury to senior pacer Yashasvi Jaiswal opened a spot for him in the development squad. The experience of training overseas and traveling with the group sharpened his readiness for a full international debut, which he now hopes to realise against Zimbabwe.
