Arundhati Joins Elite Group of Indian Women in CWG 2026 Semi‑Finals

Glasgow, 29 July – Arundhati Choudhary became the fifth Indian female boxer to break into the Commonwealth Games 2026 semi‑finals. After defeating New Zealand’s Morgan Henderson 3‑1 in the quarter‑final, she secured at least a bronze medal for India.

The match featured a balanced first round (10‑10 from three judges), a dominant second round where Arundhati received full points from four judges after Henderson lost a warning point, and a third round where three judges again favored the Indian athlete.

Her achievement follows the semi‑final qualifications of Sakshi (51 kg), Priya (60 kg), Preeti (54 kg) and Jadhumani Singh (55 kg men’s category). Arundhati now aims to push further and fight for gold in the final.
