Arun Jaitley Stadium hosts thrilling chase: North Delhi beats South Delhi by six wickets

In a gripping finale of the 2026 Women’s Delhi Premier League, North Delhi Strikers clinched the title with a six‑wicket victory over South Delhi Superstars at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. South Delhi’s innings collapsed at 122/6. Priya Poonia was out on the first delivery, and a short 16‑run partnership between Tanishka Singh and Tanisha Singh could not rebuild momentum. Tanishka’s 12 runs included a six before she departed. Subsequent efforts by Tanisha and captain Shweta Shehravat moved the score to 45, with Shweta scoring 31 before falling. Disha Nagar and Nishika Singh added 25 runs, Nishika ending on 39 with a six and four fours. The bowlers Rashika Beniwal, Apeksha Anand, Priya Mishra, Najma and Archana each claimed one wicket.

North Delhi’s reply was composed and aggressive. Early wickets of Upasana Yadav (9) and Shivani Sharma (2) were taken, but Archana, batting with captain Ayushi Sony, steadied the chase, posting 71 runs from 62 balls. After the third wicket at 86, Ayushi added 43 runs before being dismissed. Najma and Samayra Raghav then completed the chase with a 23‑run stand in just 13 balls, delivering a historic win for the Strikers.
