Antigua‑Barbuda Secure Fourth Win; Shadab Khan Named Player of Match

In the latest Caribbean Premier League fixture, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons emerged victorious over the Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots by three wickets. The match, played on August 21, highlighted the all‑round capabilities of Shadab Khan, who was later honoured as Player of the Match.

Captaining the side, Moin Ali won the toss and preferred to bowl first. The Patriots posted a competitive total of 187 for six, driven by a rapid 49 from Dasun Shanaka, who struck four sixes and five fours in just 17 deliveries. Supporting scores came from Kyle Myers (34 off 18), Jason Holder (27) and Andre Fletcher (20).

Shadab Khan’s spell was both restrictive and penetrative, conceding only 22 runs in his four overs while taking a wicket. He was aided by Shamar Springer, Jaidan Sills and captain Moin Ali, each picking up a wicket to keep the opposition’s scoring in check.

During the chase, the Falcons needed 188 to win. They achieved 191 for seven in 19.3 overs, with Evan Luis leading the batting effort with a powerful 48 off 38 balls, featuring five sixes. Shadab Khan added a quick‑fire 30 from 12 balls, smashing three sixes and two fours. Captain Moin Ali contributed an unbeaten 25, while Shamar Springer (15) and Karima Gore (22) provided valuable runs at the death.

The comprehensive performance earned Shadab Khan the Player of the Match award. This marks the Falcons’ fourth win of the season, moving them up to fourth place in the CPL table. The Patriots, suffering their third loss, remain seventh on the ladder.
