Aiyer climbs to fourth spot on India’s T20 run‑scorers list

With his unbeaten 102 in Lucknow, Ayush Aiyer moved up to fourth on the Indian T20 International run‑scoring ladder. The top three positions remain occupied by Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav.

Aiyer’s innings also made him the only Indian captain to notch a century while chasing a target in T20 Internationals. The previous best by an Indian captain in a chase was Virat Kohli’s 94* against the West Indies in 2019.

The milestone added to Aiyer’s growing reputation as a finisher, and his strike‑rich performance helped India restrict the West Indies to 171 before cruising to victory with 8 wickets left.
