Afridi highlights balanced squad as Pakistan gears up for competitive tri‑series

Having captained Pakistan in 11 ODIs, Shahine Afridi views the current line‑up as a well‑rounded combination of youthful vigor and seasoned experience. He believes the balance will give the side multiple options across the 50‑over format, allowing them to adapt to different phases of a match.

The squad includes emerging talents such as Rajabullah and Sad Beg, who have yet to make an international debut, alongside established performers. Afridi said the blend of fresh energy and veteran know‑how is essential for challenging Sri Lanka and England in what he expects to be a tightly contested series.

The host nation enters the competition on the back of three series wins out of four in recent ODI outings, underscoring the confidence the team carries into the upcoming fixtures.
