Afghanistan’s U19 cricket squad is set to travel to India next month for a significant ODI Tri-series. The young Lions will compete against two Indian U19 teams, India U19 A and India U19 B, in Bengaluru. This preparatory tournament, commencing on November 17, is crucial for Afghanistan as they fine-tune their skills ahead of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup and the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, which will be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has been diligently preparing its junior team through rigorous training camps and international exposure. This series in India follows a recent five-match ODI tour against Bangladesh. The ACB CEO highlighted the importance of these international assignments, stating they provide vital competitive experience for the developing players. The Tri-series adopts a double round-robin format, with each team playing each other twice. The top two teams will advance to the final, scheduled for November 30, concluding the 13-day event.
