Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran vows better start after losing toss to India
Following the toss loss to India in the second T20, Afghanistan’s leader Ibrahim Zadran insisted his side would adopt a proactive stance. “We want to play positive cricket and recover from the slow start we had earlier,” Zadran said.
Afghanistan made no changes to their playing XI, keeping the same combination that struggled in the first match. Their bowlers, including fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi, were heavily punished by India’s top order, while the spin duo of the debutants failed to make an impact.
The Afghan batting line‑up, which collapsed against India’s pace attack in the opening game, is under pressure to produce a steadier chase. Zadran hopes the experience gained will translate into a more disciplined innings.
India, on the other hand, is banking on a revised bowling attack featuring Ravi Bishnoi, hoping his debut will add the missing edge and help contain Afghanistan’s batsmen.
