Afghan squads finalized for Bangladesh Tests and Zimbabwe T20/ODI clashes

Afghanistan's cricket administration confirmed the player rosters for its multi‑format campaign against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The schedule opens with a Test match on 9 October in Bangladesh, proceeds to an ODI tri‑series that includes Zimbabwe, and then moves to a three‑match T20I series and a two‑match Test series versus Zimbabwe. Rahmat Shah remains the appointed captain for the Test and ODI teams, while Ibrahim Zadran will captain the T20 side. The T20 squad introduces uncapped all‑rounder Abdullah Tarakhil and incorporates 2026 Asian Games debutante Mohammad Akram. Middle‑order batsmen Ejaz Ahmedzai and Shahidullah Kamal have been recalled for the shortest format, whereas seasoned all‑rounder Mohammad Nabi and all‑rounder Darvesh Rasuli are omitted. Rashid Khan and Ibrahim Zadran have been given a break from Test duties on medical advice. After a dominant first‑class campaign, fast bowler Yamin Ahmedzai is back in the red‑ball XI, providing additional firepower to the bowling attack.
