Afghan captain vows to improve after 159/8 defeat at Delhi

Afghanistan’s campaign in New Delhi ended with a 7‑wicket loss to India after posting 159 for eight wickets. Captain Ibrahim Jazdaran emphasized that the side’s batting struggled to find rhythm early, giving Indian bowlers a decisive advantage in the first six overs.

“Clearly we had to fight again. We did not achieve what we wanted, but as a group we are thinking about how to improve and adopt the right international cricket attitude, especially against big teams,” he said.

Jazdaran credited the Indian bowlers for the pressure they applied and promised that Afghanistan will work on scoring beyond 200 runs, a target they discussed after the first match but failed to meet.
