13-Year-Old Amarya Bajaj Secures First Place in Dutch Junior Open

Amsterdam, 6 July – Amarya Bajaj, a 13‑year‑old Indian squash sensation, clinched the Dutch Junior Open U‑13 boys title after defeating England’s Daniel Stevenson 3‑1 in the final. Her campaign featured a series of confident wins over top junior competitors from Egypt, England, Singapore and Hungary.

After a 3‑0 opening round victory over an Egyptian challenger, Bajaj continued her surge by beating England’s Arlo Smith 3‑0. She then eliminated Singapore’s leading junior Kelvin Lo with another 3‑0 result and edged past Badir Hassan of Egypt 3‑1 in the quarter‑finals.

In the semi‑final, Bajaj faced Hungary’s Alex Kostzyu and secured a decisive win, paving the way to the final where she outplayed the favored English representative. The triumph follows her silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships held in China earlier this year, further cementing her reputation as a rising star in junior squash.
