In view of the possibility of more passenger rush in trains during the festive season, the Railway Board is running more than a dozen closed passenger trains by making them special. Raipur railway station is in awe as soon as the trains run on the track. There is a rush of passengers to collect tickets at the reservation center in the morning and evening. With the increase in ticket booking, there is a possibility of a situation of clashes in special trains in the coming days. At present, waiting list has started increasing in trains like Mumbai Mail, Ahmedabad-Bhubaneswar Special etc. including Sarnath Express, while seats in Durg-Ambikapur, Durg-Puri Express are vacant. Seeing the status of reservation, passengers are taking tickets.
More than 12 express trains pass through Raipur railway station. Keeping in mind the festive season and the demand of passengers, the Railway Board is preparing to announce the running of more express trains in the coming days. Railway officers are also waiting for this. The frenzy of commuters to travel on the Sarnath Express starting from Chhapra from October 13 has increased because of the assembly elections in Bihar and the festive season. So far no express train is running from any major station of Chhattisgarh including Raipur to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, passengers of Satna, Rewa of Madhya Pradesh along with Uttar Pradesh, Bihar have also started booking tickets to travel on the Sarnath Express.
