With the onset of Kharif season, the offtake of chemical fertilizers has increased. So far more than 4.98 lakh metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers have been distributed to the farmers. This figure is 2.66 lakh more than the 2.32 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer distributed till June 20 in the last Kharif season. Double lock, 2.03 lakh metric tonnes of manure is available for distribution in cooperatives and 2.11 lakh metric tonnes in private sector as of today. Against the target of 13.70 lakh metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers in the current Kharif season, so far 9.13 lakh metric tonnes of manure has been stored in the state, which is 67 percent of the target. So far 4.98 lakh metric tonnes of manure has been distributed to farmers through cooperatives and private sectors, which is only 55 percent of the quantity of storage. According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, 4.15 lakh metric tonnes of manure is available for distribution as of today, out of which 2.03 lakh is stored with Markfed and Co-operative Society and 2.11 lakh metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers are stored in the private sector. In the Kharif season 2021, only 2.32 lakh metric tonnes of manure was lifted by the farmers in the state during the period of 20th June, whereas till June 20 this year, 4.98 lakh metric tonnes of manure has been lifted by the farmers. Additional Director Agriculture Shri A.C. Padam informed that in today’s situation 2 lakh 16 thousand 247 metric tonnes of urea, 46 thousand 587 metric tonnes of DAP, 33 thousand 854 metric tonnes of NPK, 25 thousand 759 metric tonnes of potash, 92 thousand 687 metric tonnes of super phosphate are stored. He said that continuous efforts are being made for the supply of chemical fertilizers in the state. The Government of India has approved the supply of 13 lakh 70 thousand metric tonnes of fertilizers for the current Kharif season, against which till date only 5 lakh 88 thousand 73 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers have been supplied. This includes urea 3 lakh 19 thousand 562 metric tons, DAP one lakh 47 thousand 956 metric tons, NPK 29 thousand 885 metric tons, potash 32 thousand 677 metric tons, super phosphate 57 thousand 993 super phosphate.
