How to Free Lae’zel

Once you locate Lae’zel, you will need to figure out how to get her out of her cage. Approaching the cage will present you with several options to choose from. The key options that can lead to her escape are:

  1. Why should I help you?
  2. Don’t worry – I’ll get them out of here, one way or another.
  3. [DECEPTION] This creature is dangerous. Get out of here – leave it to me!
  4. [PERSUASION] Shoot the trap down. We must kill it before it harms someone.

If you choose the bolded options, you will have the chance to free Lae’zel. Note that both persuasion and deception require a roll of at least 10 to be successful. Successfully using deception will make the tieflings leave the area, allowing you to shoot at the bottom of Lae’zel’s cage with a ranged weapon or spell.

What Happens if You Don’t Free Lae’zel?

If you decide not to free Lae’zel, she will manage to escape on her own and continue her quest independently. However, you will still have chances to encounter her again throughout Act 1 and even recruit her later on.
