New Delhi: In the aftermath of 2024 Lok Sabha polls, BJP’s central leadership has sent a stern message to its cadre to not make any loose remarks against Dalits and reservation, and urged its leaders to continuously engage with the community while presenting Dr BR Ambedkar as the party’s icon.

This comes as some BJP leaders had made some remarks in the run up to 2024 LS polls along with the narrative that the Constitution would be changed that the party thinks went against it in the elections. Since then, BJP has been working overtime for course correction.

With Dr BR Ambedkar anniversary approaching, BJP has made big plans to celebrate it throughout the country, at the locality and mohalla levels. To make it a grand event, a strategy meeting was held at the BJP headquarters here which was attended by the central leadership, including party chief JP Nadda and party general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh, Union ministers and several party leaders from across the country.Several leaders attending the meeting told ET, it was conveyed by the party leadership to keep a watch on the narrative among SCs in every state, continuously engage with them and highlight BJP’s and the PM’s commitment towards Ambedkar and social justice.

Dalit BJP leaders hailed and welcomed the reach-out exercise, but suggested that better representation in the organisation would also help the party in conveying the message.
