
According to the announcement of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Sanskriti Parishad has been formed with the objective of bringing various divisions of Culture Department under one umbrella. For the Chhattisgarh Culture Council, constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, 15 members of the non-government sector have been nominated. An order to this effect has been issued by the Ministry of Culture, Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur. According to the order issued by the government, the nominated members are from the literary and art field of the state, Mr. Vijay Gupta from the field of Ambikapur literature, Mr. Bhupesh Tiwari from the area of Kondagaon tribal folk art, Ms. Sarita Verma from the field of Bhilai painting-sculpture, Mr. Bhupendra Sahu. Raipur from the field of drama, Padma Shri Mamta Chandrakar, Vice Chancellor Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya Khairagarh from the field of classical-folk music, Shri Kalicharan Yadav from Bilaspur and Ms. Basanti Vaishnav from the field of Raigad dance have been included as members. Similarly, Shri Deepak Baij, Member of Parliament elected in the Parliament of India from Chhattisgarh, who is interested in art literature, has also been nominated as a member. It is worth mentioning that there are total 6 divisions under the council, in which Sahitya Akademi will have Padumalal Punnalal Bakshi Peeth, Shrikant Verma Peeth and Guru Ghasidas Shodh Peeth. The presidents of these three benches of Sahitya Akademi will also be members of the council. The rest will be members of the other 5 divisions. President of Sahitya Akademi Shri Ishwar Singh Dost, Pithora-Bhopal, Shri Lalit Kumar Bhilai of Padumalal Punnalal Bakshi Peeth, Shri Ramkumar Tiwari of Shrikant Verma Peeth, Shri Naval Shukla Ambikapur, President of Tribal and Folk Kala Academy, Shri Yogendra Tripathi, President of Kala Akademi Khairagarh-Bhilai and two members nominated by the President, Shri Vinod Verma Raipur and Shri Jayant Deshmukh Raipur have also been nominated as members of the council.
