Yogi Adityanath to be among star campaigners

With the pride of the BJP at stake, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be among star campaigners for the party in three Central Indian States where Assembly elections are slated for November and December.

A meeting in this connection was held at the CM’s official residence at 5, KD Marg, on Monday night at which the blueprint of Yogi’s forays into neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh was chalked out.

Sources told The Pioneer that the two Deputy Chief Ministers, Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya, might also be asked to address rallies in those States. “But the focus will be on Yogi as requests have started pouring in from these poll-bound states seeking time from the UP Chief Minister,” the sources said.  Assembly elections are also slated for Telangana and Mizoram but Yogi’s electoral participation there is not clear. “The CM might also go to these two States and address rallies there. It all depends on directives from the Central leadership,” he said.

Earlier too, Yogi had been the star campaigner of the BJP and his role in Gujarat was very crucial as he was the most sought after leader after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s president Amit Singh. “Yogi’s saffron outfit and sanyasi look sends a loud Hindutva message which has proved beneficial for the party. Therefore, he has been sent to different States for electioneering,” a leader opined.
