Mumbai, May 21. Preparing for her role in an Imtiaz Ali film, actress Sharvari Wagh decided to go beyond the script. She packed her bags and headed to Punjab with her mother to immerse herself in the region’s culture. What she discovered was a place filled with warmth, history, and unforgettable flavors. Sharvari told IANS that Imtiaz’s love for Punjab motivated her to experience it personally. “I felt something was missing in my understanding, so I chose to explore it myself,” she shared. Together with her mother, she visited landmarks, tasted traditional dishes, and learned about the region’s past at the Partition Museum. The actress said she approached the journey like a student eager to learn, taking notes and asking questions. Her goal was simple: fall in love with Punjab so she could portray her character honestly. She succeeded, describing Punjabis as among the finest people she has known. Sharvari’s genuine connection to the state is expected to shine through in ‘Main Wapas Aaunga’, where she plays a Punjabi woman. The film, also starring Vedang Raina, releases in theaters on June 12.
