A high-level meeting was convened on Monday in Palamu, chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samira S, to assess the progress of National Highway 75, four-lane road construction, Right of Way (RoW), Road Over Bridges (RoB), and other government road development initiatives. During the meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium, the DC thoroughly reviewed land acquisition and compensation payment processes for various NHAI projects. Key areas of discussion included award numbers for road construction areas, issued and pending Land Possession Certificates (LPC), and compensation disbursements. The DC emphasized the importance of timely action on cases eligible for the Land Acquisition (LA) court, urging concerned Circle Officers (COs) and Land Acquisition Officers (LAOs) to maintain constant communication and diligently address all tenant grievances. It was noted that some project aspects were pending with specific agencies, prompting the DC to stress the need for these agencies to strengthen their documentation. Following the land acquisition review, DC Samira S met with representatives from various operating coal mines in the district. She gained insights into their pending grievances at the block and district levels. On-the-spot discussions were held with the respective Circle Officers regarding these issues. Trimumula Mines was directed to complete its pending land schedule work within the next ten days, with the concerned CO instructed to provide necessary support. Mine representatives also raised concerns regarding No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for explosives. Discussions also covered the NOC for GM Jayceeland. The DC highlighted that the smooth operation of coal mines is crucial for the district’s development and stressed the importance of collaborative teamwork between mine representatives and administrative officials.
