A political storm has erupted in Hazaribagh concerning a ₹12 lakh tender issued by NTPC for facilities at the residence of Patratu MLA Roshanlal Choudhary. Former MLA Amba Prasad has directly challenged the current legislator, accusing him of prioritizing corporate interests over the welfare of the Barkagaon constituency. Addressing a press conference, Prasad highlighted widespread issues faced by locals, including displacement by mining companies, joblessness, unresolved cut-off date disputes, and frequent road accidents. She alleged that instead of supporting the affected populace, the local MLA is collaborating with and receiving support from these companies.
Prasad further claimed that despite being in office for a year, MLA Roshanlal Choudhary has failed to introduce any new development initiatives. She asserted that current projects are merely repackaged old schemes, deceiving the public and leaving Barkagaon stagnant in terms of development. The former MLA also questioned NTPC’s operational approach, stating that the company’s focus remains solely on coal transportation, neglecting local concerns. Displaced families continue to struggle with basic issues without adequate support. Prasad maintained that the constituency’s development status has not progressed since she left office.
Expressing concern over the MLA’s alleged focus on protecting company interests rather than engaging with public problems, Prasad emphasized that a public representative’s primary duty is to serve the people, not pursue personal gain. She urged the public to remain vigilant and called for a mass movement to advocate for the area’s development, the rights of the displaced, and the future of its youth.
