Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commenced a significant three-nation tour, visiting Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman to bolster strategic partnerships. This extensive diplomatic outreach aims to strengthen long-standing civilizational bonds and contemporary bilateral relations with each nation. In Jordan, the Prime Minister will commemorate 75 years of diplomatic ties with a series of high-level meetings, including discussions with King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Jafar Hassan. A meeting with the vibrant Indian community, recognized for its contributions to bilateral relations, is also scheduled. The tour then proceeds to Ethiopia, marking a historic visit since 2011. Addis Ababa, the headquarters of the African Union and now a G20 member, will host discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. The Prime Minister will also address Ethiopia’s Parliament, highlighting India’s democratic heritage and the potential of the India-Ethiopia partnership for the Global South, while also engaging with the local Indian diaspora. The final destination is Oman, celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations. High-level talks with the Sultan of Oman will focus on deepening the strategic partnership and economic ties. Prime Minister Modi will also connect with the Indian diaspora in Oman, acknowledging their significant role in the nation’s development and the Indo-Oman relationship.
