Legendary spinner Anil Kumble believes the aura of T20 superstar Rashid Khan is diminishing. Speaking ahead of the IPL 2026 season, Kumble noted that the Afghan bowler’s unique mystery has worn off, making him less intimidating than in previous years. Kumble highlighted Rashid’s struggles in IPL 2025, where he took only nine wickets at a high average of 57.11 and conceded 33 sixes, the most by any bowler in a season. This marks a significant dip from his usual dominant performances. The former India captain suggested that an oversaturation of similar bowlers has eroded Rashid’s once unparalleled effectiveness. For Gujarat Titans to succeed in IPL 2026, Kumble emphasized the need for greater contributions from left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore and all-rounders Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia, alongside managing Rashid’s workload effectively.
