The Jion Jharana Santhal Association recently hosted a vibrant Christmas celebration, bringing together community members for a festive gathering. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Professor Stephen Marandi, the esteemed MLA from Maheshpur. Also in attendance were Dumka MP Nalin Soren, JJP President Joyes Besra, and JMM Central Committee member Upasna Marandi. Upon their arrival, the guests were warmly welcomed with traditional dance performances by the youth, showcasing local culture and enthusiasm. The dignitaries were then honored with traditional angavastras (ceremonial scarfs) by a reverend father, symbolizing respect and appreciation. The children present captivated the audience and guests with their charming and engaging dance routines. Addressing the attendees, the Member of Parliament emphasized the message of love and unity that Christmas embodies, extending warm wishes for the festive season and praying for divine blessings. The MLA urged parents to prioritize education as a key factor in societal progress and expressed deep gratitude to the organizers for their support and affection, stating it would be long remembered. A significant number of attendees, including religious sisters, men, women, and children, participated in the joyous occasion.
