The Jharkhand Assembly witnessed significant disruption on Monday during its winter session as the opposition continued to protest despite appeals for the Zero Hour. The session, which began at noon, saw the presentation of a supplementary budget of Rs 7,721 crore by Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore. However, shortly after the budget’s introduction, opposition MLAs began raising slogans and pounding on tables, demanding a discussion on the scholarship issue. Marshals confiscated posters held by the protesting legislators. Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahto’s plea to proceed with the Zero Hour was disregarded by the agitated opposition.
