These jewels will be deposited in the night at 12 o’clock after Krishna’s birth in the treasury, these treasures will be opened and kept in the treasury and on the second day in the morning, they will be kept again in the bank locker. The jewels are worth hundred crores, this temple built by the princely state of Scindia has gold jewelery studded with precious gems for the idols of Radha-Krishna. Due to being antique, their market value is estimated to be more than hundred crores.

After the formation of the government of Madhya Bharat after independence, the Gopal temple, the property attached to it has become under the district administration and the corporation administration. The Municipal Corporation kept these jewelery in a bank locker. They were kept in lockers for years. After this, in the year 2007, Dr. Pawan Sharma took charge of the Corporation. He got the assets of the corporation investigated, and got information about these jewelery. Then the then Mayor Vivek Shejwalkar and the corporator started the tradition of decorating the idols of Lord Radhakrishna with these jewelery on the day of Janmashtami in the Gopal temple. Since then the then commissioners have been following this tradition.
