India’s U19 team commenced their Asia Cup campaign with a resounding victory, defeating the UAE by a massive 234 runs. The dominant performance was spearheaded by Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a brilliant 171 off just 95 balls. Suryavanshi’s explosive innings included nine boundaries and an incredible 14 sixes, setting a new tournament record for most sixes in an innings.
Supporting Suryavanshi’s onslaught were crucial half-centuries from Aaron George (69) and Vihaan Malhotra (69). Contributions from Vedant Trivedi (38), Abhigyan Kundu (32), and Kanishk Chouhan (28) further bolstered India’s total to a record-breaking 433/6. This score marks the highest ever in the U19 Asia Cup and is the third-highest team total in men’s U19 ODI history.
In response, the UAE U19 team struggled to keep pace and managed only 199/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Uddish Suri’s unbeaten 78 and Prithvi Madhu’s fifty offered some resistance, but it was not enough to challenge India’s formidable total.
