Hazaribagh convened a high-level meeting on Wednesday, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh, to meticulously review the progress of various rural development schemes. Held in the District Collectorate’s meeting hall, the session focused on key initiatives including MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ambedkar Awas Yojana, Abua Awas Yojana, Birsa Coop Samvardhan Yojana, Doba Nirman, Anganwadi schemes, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, horticulture projects, PD generation, geo-tagging, Janman Yojana, Panchayati Raj, ABPS, and JSLPS programs. Discussions also covered new SHG formations, credit linkage, Mudra loans, livestock management, producer groups, DDU-GKY, and PMFME, among others.
Deputy Commissioner Singh emphasized the need for accelerated progress in PD generation, directing Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Block Programme Officers (BPOs) to compile lists of impoverished families to ensure employment opportunities under MGNREGA and boost labor days. A strong focus was placed on the swift and complete execution of pending and older projects. The DC also mandated coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department for livestock scheme sanctions and instructed officials to conduct field surveys to identify and collect data from eligible beneficiaries. Furthermore, directives were issued for the construction of toilets under MGNREGA for PVTG communities.
Ensuring the proper maintenance of nutrition gardens in schools and Anganwadi centers was highlighted. BPOs were tasked with the 100% completion of job card applications received through the ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ program and to survey and issue job cards to individuals who currently lack them. The Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana’s pending projects are also to be finalized urgently. The Deputy Commissioner mandated regular inspections of Anganwadi centers by BDOs, with a specific instruction to reconcile physical and online data during these visits. A detailed review of JSLPS initiatives included a demand for reports on bank-related issues and a directive to pay close attention to SHG insurance concerns.
The meeting also addressed critical aspects of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, urging prompt resolution of Aadhaar verification issues. Officials were directed to enhance activity in PD generation and vermicompost production, expedite material issuance, ensure progress on older schemes, and effectively implement services under Panchayati Raj. The session was attended by the Deputy Development Commissioner, trainee IAS officers, Panchayati Raj officials, all BDOs, BPOs, BPMs, various scheme coordinators, and other relevant personnel.
