In a significant operation against human trafficking, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Hatia Railway Station has successfully rescued two minor girls. The swift action, conducted on December 16, 2025, as part of Operation ‘Aahat’, saw the AHTU and DNFT teams from Ranchi division apprehend a suspect, identified as Mohammad Mustafa Ansari, along with the two children near the VIP gate on Platform No. 1. The rescued girls, aged 12 and 13, were reportedly being lured to Chennai under the false promise of employment. The accused allegedly offered a monthly wage of ₹10,000 for domestic work. Investigations revealed that the trafficker had shared images of the children via WhatsApp and had already purchased train tickets for their journey. The rescued minors have been safely transferred to Premashray, Ranchi, for care and rehabilitation, while the arrested individual faces legal proceedings after a case was registered at AHTU/Kotwali, Ranchi.
