There is good news for central employees, pensioners. Now central pensioners from all over the country will be able to get a life certificate from home. Postal Department will cooperate in this work. Postmen will go to these pensioners’ house and take certificates and submit them online. This facility has come as a big relief for millions of pensioners amidst growing threat of corona infection.
According to the statement issued by the Union Ministry of Personnel, The India Post Payment Bank of the Department of Posts and the Department of Electronics and Information has started this campaign on the initiative of the Pension and Pensioners Welfare Department. Postmen will be helpful in submitting the life certificates of pensioners of the Central Government. The postman will go to the pensioner’s house and take his certificate and submit it online. However the pensioner concerned will have to pay a fixed fee for this service. This service will be made available to all central government pensioners across the country. In order to submit the living certificate online, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Jeevan Pramaan portal in 2014. Since then the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has been making this technology convenient for the people. In view of the Corona epidemic, it is a relief news for elderly pensioners. They will be able to get this work done while staying at home.
Currently, the number of central government pensioners in the country is 65.26 lakhs. After the new instructions, now the banks have been directed to upload them on their website and put them on the notice board in the branches of the banks. Pension disbursing banks will accept Digital Life Certificate Jeevan Pramaan. Apart from this, according to the new rules, pensioners who are 80 years or older can submit life certificate every year. According to the rules, every pensioner or family pensioner has to give a life certificate in November every year.
