Dhanbad district has officially commenced its paddy procurement drive, ensuring farmers receive a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2450 per quintal. The initiative was inaugurated by esteemed local legislators across various blocks. In Tundi, the launch was graced by Honourable MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto. In Dhanbad, Honourable MLA Raj Sinha initiated the process, while in Baghmara, Honourable MLA Shatrughan Mahto presided over the ceremony. Local representatives spearheaded inaugurations in other blocks.
District Supply Officer Pankaj Kumar announced that farmers will receive full payment within 48 hours of selling their paddy. The district has designated 18 procurement centers to facilitate this process. These centers are strategically located across blocks including Govindpur, Topchanchi, Baliapur, Dhanbad, Tundi, East Tundi, Baghmara, Nirsa, Eklebra, and Kalidaspur. Specific PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) have been identified in each block to manage the procurement. Farmers can now avail the government-assured price, providing much-needed financial support and market stability.
