Dhanbad’s paddy procurement season has officially begun, bringing welcome news for local farmers. The minimum support price (MSP) for paddy has been set at ₹2450 per quintal, ensuring a fair return for their hard work. Payments will be disbursed within 48 hours of procurement, offering farmers timely financial relief. The launch ceremonies were graced by esteemed Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). In Tundi, the initiative was inaugurated by MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto. In Dhanbad, MLA Raj Sinha took part in the launch, while in Baghmara, MLA Shatrughan Mahto marked the commencement. Local representatives also inaugurated procurement centers in other blocks. District Supply Officer Pankaj Kumar confirmed the MSP rate and the swift payment process. A total of 18 procurement centers have been established across the district to facilitate the smooth collection of paddy. These centers are strategically located in various blocks, including Govindpur, Topchanchi, Baliapur, Dhanbad, Tundi, East Tundi, Baghmara, Nirsa, Angarpathra, and Kalaiyashol, ensuring accessibility for farmers throughout the region. The presence of elected officials and agricultural department representatives at the launch events underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the farming community.
