Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a passionate plea on Saturday to sharpen the raw talent of young sportspersons, positioning sports promotion as a top priority for state development.
Addressing a large gathering of sports enthusiasts, the CM stressed that neglecting budding athletes means losing future national pride. He called for a statewide movement where schools, colleges, and villages actively scout and train promising individuals.
Yogi recounted UP’s transformation from a sports backwater to a hub of excellence, thanks to investments in academies and equipment. ‘We will leave no stone unturned to make our youth Olympic-ready,’ he affirmed.
Key announcements included expanding rural sports centers and integrating physical education mandates in curricula. Partnerships with corporate sponsors will fund travel and coaching for underprivileged talents.
The CM lauded women athletes breaking barriers and vowed more schemes for girl child participation. He linked sports to curbing social ills like drug abuse and unemployment among youth.
Drawing from India’s recent Asian Games haul, Yogi envisioned UP contributing significantly to the national tally. Stakeholders from sports bodies echoed his sentiments, promising collaborative action.
This initiative builds on previous successes, where UP athletes clinched multiple medals. With Yogi’s renewed focus, the state is set to dominate Indian sports circuits.
As applause filled the venue, the message was clear: talent identification and nurturing is everyone’s responsibility for a fitter, stronger Uttar Pradesh.
