Chhattisgarh’s draft electoral rolls have been released, marking a significant update to the state’s voter registry. The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, conducted by the Election Commission, has led to the deletion of over 2.7 million names. This comprehensive revision aims to ensure accuracy by including all eligible voters and removing those who are no longer qualified. The draft rolls, now available on the Chief Electoral Officer’s website, reflect the efforts to maintain a transparent and up-to-date voter list. A total of 18,495,920 electors’ enumeration forms were collected. Major deletions include 642,234 deceased individuals, 1,913,540 who have moved or are absent, and 179,043 found to be registered multiple times. This extensive exercise underscores the commitment to electoral integrity in Chhattisgarh.
