He said, the government will give a production-linked incentive (PLI) of two lakh crore rupees in 10 sectors to encourage domestic manufacturing. This scheme will make Indian manufacturers globally competitive, attract investment and increase exports. This will increase production, exports and employment.
He said that the benefit of production-based incentive scheme would be available to investors in industries like refrigerators, products like washing machines, medicines, special types of steel, vehicles, telecommunications, textiles, food products, solar photovoltaic and mobile phone batteries.
