Authorities are intensifying their efforts to apprehend the individual responsible for a fatal shooting at Brown University. The FBI has now released a crucial five-minute video timeline documenting the movements of a “person of interest” prior to the tragic event. This footage offers a glimpse into the suspect’s actions in the hours before the violence erupted on the Providence campus.
The video, shared by FBI Director Kash Patel, shows the individual moving through the area, notably wearing headwear that obscures their face. While no weapon is visible, investigators emphasize the suspect may be armed and dangerous. This release is a critical step in the ongoing investigation, which has seen authorities previously detain and then clear a man.
Providence Police have also provided an enhanced, zoomed-in version of the video, aiming to offer a clearer view of the person’s face. The footage was captured on the East Side of Providence earlier on the day of the shooting. A significant reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
Officials are urging the public to come forward with any information. The Rhode Island Attorney General has stressed the importance of public cooperation in resolving this case, while the Governor has affirmed the determination of law enforcement to bring the perpetrator to justice. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the FBI or the Providence Police Department.
