The brother of slain youth leader Osman Hadi has put forth a grave accusation, asserting that the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus orchestrated the activist’s killing. Sharif Omar bin Hadi claims the murder, which occurred on December 12 during election campaigning in Dhaka, was a deliberate act to disrupt the upcoming general elections. He stated that the government failed in its duty to protect his brother and that those in power during the interim administration must be held accountable. Omar suggested a political motive, alleging the government sought to use Hadi’s death to gain electoral advantage. The 32-year-old activist was shot in the head in the Bijoynagar area and later passed away in Singapore. His death sparked protests and vandalism across Bangladesh. Hadi was laid to rest under heavy security, with his funeral attended by thousands. The Yunus government declared a day of mourning.
