In a compassionate gesture, officials distributed warm blankets to Musahar families residing in Chiyanki Pahad, Palamu. Facing the biting cold without adequate warm clothing, these families were struggling to stay warm, often relying on bonfires to get through the nights. The timely intervention by the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Sadar block, Jago Mahto, and Chiyanki Mukhiya, Binko Uraon, ensured that the vulnerable community received much-needed relief.
BDO Jago Mahto emphasized that the distributed blankets would provide significant comfort against the harsh winter conditions. He highlighted the profound satisfaction derived from serving the underprivileged, stating that assisting the poor and needy is the highest form of service. The initiative aims to alleviate the suffering caused by the dropping temperatures.
Chiyanki Mukhiya, Binko Uraon, also present at the distribution, assured continued support for the Musahar community. He mentioned ongoing efforts to provide essential government services like housing and pensions, ensuring priority access to all welfare schemes for these families. Uraon commended the BDO’s proactive approach and pledged to distribute any further aid received for the benefit of the needy in Chiyanki Panchayat. The development of the Chiyanki market was also noted as a benefit for local businesses and the unemployed.
