
In order to provide assistance to rural landless agricultural laborers in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has started Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana. The scheme is being implemented by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department. Under the scheme, from September 1 to November 30, applications have been received at the gram panchayat level in all the districts of the state. So far more than 4 lakh 41 thousand 658 applications have been received. The registration of the applications received is being done at the district level. The applications are being scrutinized by the Tehsildars of the area. The last date to apply is 30th November. Therefore, the beneficiaries have been requested to submit an application to the Gram Panchayat of their village to take advantage of the scheme. The main objective of the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Yojana is to identify agricultural landless families in rural areas and provide them financial grant assistance on an annual basis. Eligible beneficiaries will be given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually, which will be deposited directly into the beneficiary’s account. With this financial assistance, the income of the beneficiary will increase and he will be able to meet the needs of his family. The benefit of the scheme will be given to such native residents of Chhattisgarh, families who do not have agricultural land, in such families, families associated with the farming system like shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers, washermen and priests, forest produce collectors and by the government. Other categories as fixed from time to time will also be eligible, whose family does not have agricultural land. After examining the applications received under the scheme, a list of eligible beneficiaries will be prepared and placed in the Gram Sabha for receiving claim objection. After the disposal of the claim objection, the final list of eligible beneficiaries will be published. 6 thousand rupees will be paid annually to the eligible beneficiaries by the state government.
