Zero Tolerance Policy Reinforced with New Exam Law Changes

The amendment reinforces the "zero tolerance" policy declared by the Prime Minister after a spate of paper‑leak scandals. Under the revised law, investigations must be completed within two months, followed by trial proceedings concluded in the next three months, ensuring a total resolution period of five months.

Singh emphasized that the earlier practice of prolonged court cases will be eliminated. Fast‑track courts dedicated to examination‑related offences will be set up to prevent backlog and guarantee swift justice.

He also noted that the National Testing Agency (NTA), which finally came into existence after more than three decades of proposals, will continue to conduct major entrance examinations, bringing transparency and uniformity to the process.

The minister invited all members of parliament to offer constructive feedback, assuring that any beneficial recommendations will be taken up seriously to further strengthen the system.
