Youth-Led Rallies Amplify Opposition’s Critique of Central Govt, Says Sanjay Raut

New Delhi, July 20 – In a candid conversation with reporters, Sanjay Raut, MP from Shiv Sena (UBT), condemned the centre for appearing nervous in the face of growing student activism. He described senior politicians as “56‑inch‑wide‑chested” individuals who are frightened by ordinary children.

Raut linked this anxiety to the Sonam Wangchuk protest and the larger Ram Mandir chadava controversy, pointing out massive turnouts in Mumbai, where the Thackeray brothers addressed thousands, as well as similar demonstrations in Pune and Nagpur. He questioned the relevance of Parliament, claiming that the institution no longer upholds the dignity traditionally granted to the opposition.

He urged detractors to reflect on their lack of participation in the freedom movement and to recite “Vande Mataram” without truly knowing its words, underscoring a hollow sense of nationalism. Raut reiterated that the chadava dispute is a serious matter, with thousands marching against it on the streets.

Chandrashekhar, leader of the Azad Samaj Party, reinforced the message, insisting that the government must address the grievances of the nation’s youngsters. He warned that any party ignoring youth concerns would struggle to win elections, noting that even when metro services are suspended during protests, the youth remain undeterred.
