Young Participants Share Village Encounters, Praise Modi’s Guidance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent time with the young volunteers who are part of the Service Pledge Mission from Varanasi to Vadnagar. He inquired about their daily travel challenges, their interactions with villagers and the impact of the mission on their outlook.

Modi highlighted that the journey offers a priceless learning curve, allowing participants to witness India's vast cultural tapestry beyond textbooks. He stressed that each village presents distinct traditions, food habits and communal bonds, all of which enrich the volunteers' perspective.

Kuldip Patel, representing the Uttar Pradesh contingent, described a warm reception in a remote hamlet, where residents prepared an elaborate dinner and a child eagerly asked to meet the Prime Minister. Patel said the camaraderie among volunteers and the affection they receive from locals keep them motivated.

The Prime Minister also met Pradeep Mukherjee from Madhya Pradesh, reminding him to wear helmets for safety and commending his readiness to cover up to 20,000 kilometres for service. Modi praised the volunteers for seeing governmental schemes not merely as financial allocations but as instruments that can transform lives when they reach the last citizen.

Modi concluded by encouraging the participants to live fully the experience, treat the journey as a treasure chest of life lessons, and ensure that the spirit of service never fades.
