Yogi Government Announces Major Police Cadre Realignment

Lucknow, September 19 – The Yogi Adityanath administration has unveiled a comprehensive realignment of the Uttar Pradesh police cadre. The order details the transfer of 35 Indian Police Service officers and the reassignment of 31 senior officers at the Additional Director General and Additional Commissioner levels.

Among the senior moves, Chauru Nigam, who served as Superintendent of Police in Sultanpur, is now the senior commander of the 47th PAC unit based in Ghaziabad. Shravankumar Singh, previously the Police Commissioner of Kanpur Nagar, has been appointed Commissioner of Police, Gautam Buddha Nagar. Pramod Kumar, the former Police Commissioner of Varanasi, now heads the Cyber Headquarters in Lucknow.

Ravishankar Nim, formerly Commissioner of Police, Gautam Buddha Nagar, takes charge of the second SSF battalion in Gorakhpur. At Agra, Atul Sharma‑1 is transferred to the Information Headquarters, Lucknow, while Sonam Kumar moves from Agra to the Commissioner’s office in Prayagraj.

Additional postings include Ravindra Kumar, who moves from Kanpur Nagar to become Commissioner of Police, Agra; Kumar Pandey, now Superintendent of Police at Prayagraj Police Headquarters; and Mamata Rani Chaudhary, who shifts from Lucknow Police Commissioner to Superintendent of Police, CID Lucknow.

The reshuffle also assigns new duties to younger IPS officers posted in districts such as Jaunpur, Firozabad, Chandauli, Unnao, Ayodhya, Khiri, Jhansi, Saharanpur, Bijnor and Banda.

At the ADG tier, Akhilesh Singh is transferred from Unnao (North) to Hardoi (West). Subhash Chandra Gangwar, ADG (Traffic) in Moradabad, moves to the PTS office in Moradabad. Mukesh Chandra Mishra, ADG (North) in Bareilly, is posted as ADG (North) in Gorakhpur. The order also includes appointments to the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, ATS units, and several police commissionerates, reflecting a strategic overhaul of the state’s law‑enforcement leadership.
